A little update from Nelson Ridge 📚

The Ties That Bind is officially out in the world.

The first book is officially out in the world.

A few weeks ago, Nelson Ridge quietly released The Ties That Bind, the first book in The Rainbow House Adventures.

Since then, something pretty wonderful has been happening. Books have been arriving on doorsteps. People have asked me to sign their copies. I've heard from readers who are already asking about Book Two. And the little fictional Nebraska town I've carried around in my imagination for so long is beginning to have readers of its own.

If you haven't met them yet, The Ties That Bind introduces six girls growing up in Meadowbrook, Nebraska. A school history project leads them to an abandoned mansion, a hidden stained-glass window, and journals written more than a century ago. What they discover becomes the beginning of something much bigger than their assignment.

I wrote The Rainbow House Adventures because I wanted young girls to have stories where they have room to simply grow up. To make friends, be silly, make mistakes, discover things, learn from the people around them, and find their place in a community that sees them.

That's what I hope we're building at Nelson Ridge. If there's a young reader in your life who might enjoy a trip to Meadowbrook, I'd love for you to introduce them.
